This April, ASLA celebrates World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM) with the theme Landscape Architecture in Action. The 2026 campaign highlights how landscape architecture transforms bold ideas into essential spaces that support health, climate resilience, and daily life.

From bustling urban waterfronts to neighborhood schoolyards and protected natural habitats, your work is in action every day. This April, ASLA is calling on all members to help make that impact visible.

How to Participate

The WLAM 2026 Toolkit includes weekly prompts, sample messaging, and downloadable logos to make participation easy.

  • Amplify Your Work: Follow the weekly social media prompts (Design, Practice, Learning, Impact, and Leadership) and share your story. Use #WLAM2026 and tag ASLA on Instagram (@nationalasla) or LinkedIn (American Society of Landscape Architects) for a chance to be featured on our national channels.
  • Educate the Next Generation: Use the AIA/ASLA classroom toolkit or ASLA Career Discovery resources to inspire students in your local community.
  • Advocate: Request a local WLAM proclamation. On April 1, celebrate Professional Landscape Architects Day (PLA Day) by highlighting how licensure protects public health, safety, and welfare. Recognize licensed professionals or share your licensure journey.

New for 2026: Become the WLAM Conference Ambassador

ASLA will select one Associate or Full Member to serve as the WLAM 2026 Conference Ambassador. This leadership opportunity includes complimentary registration and hotel accommodations for the ASLA 2026 Conference on Landscape Architecture in Los Angeles this September.

To be considered:

  1. Post original WLAM content in April using #WLAM2026 and tag @nationalasla.
  2. Complete the short application form by April 30, 2026.
