World Landscape Architecture Month provides us the opportunity to celebrate the many landscape architects all over the world! However, ASLA recognizes the drastic need to increase racial diversity within the profession.
To address this issue, the ASLA Fund and the Founders Club launched the Women of Color Licensure Advancement Program. The current program provides 10 women of color with a two-year, personalized experience that includes approximately $3,500 to cover the cost of the four sections of the Landscape Architectural Registration Exam (LARE), along with exam preparation courses, resources, and mentorship from a licensed landscape architect.
The ASLA Fund and the Founders Club are supporting the Women of Color Licensure Advancement Program through your generous donations. Through your recurring donation to the Founders Club, the ASLA Fund can continue to expand the program, adding additional women each year!"The fund's Women of Color Licensure Advancement Program initiative will give a leg up to women who have traditionally been held back from achieving licensure."
Adrian Smith, FASLA, ASLA NY
“ASLA is taking steps in the right direction with its greater emphasis on diversity and inclusion. The Women of Color Licensure Advancement Program was the impetus for me to join the Founders Club. This initiative and others are small ways that we can all effect positive change. A small monthly donation by me can help change lives for the better for these brilliant women who need a financial boost.” Michele A Palmer, PLA, ASLA, LEED GA, Templeton Landscape Architecture & Planning

“Through programs from public awareness campaigns and educational opportunities focused on students in grade school to college to the recently established women of color licensure program, the ASLA Fund is continually supporting and advancing the importance of landscape architects to our world. Being a member of the Founders Club is my way of helping current and future professionals and supporting our profession of landscape architecture."
