Washington, D.C.’s bike infrastructure is among the top 10 in the U.S. Over the past decade, the city’s innovative network has been designed by public and private planners, engineers, and landscape architects.

On Earth Day, April 22 at 2pm EST, join ASLA and Toole Design for a dynamic two-hour bike tour to learn about the key phases of DC’s bike infrastructure and how it advances climate action, improves safety, and supports physical and mental health and well-being. This free tour is part of DC Climate Week.

Discover first-hand how bikeway design affects user experience. Learn about the complexities of building bikeways on urban streets. The tour will explain the evolution of DC’s bike infrastructure and how it has been designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve safety, and equitably increase access to sustainable transportation and recreation in the District.
