Landscape Architecture Magazine Receives 6 Awards

Association Media and Publishing recently announced the winners of the EXCEL awards, which recognize excellence in association media, publishing, marketing, and communications.

Landscape Architecture Magazine was honored with six awards for 2019.

In the category of Feature Article Design, LAM won Bronze for the article “Garden Punk,” about the Australian journal, The Planthunter, in the May 2019 issue.

In the category of Cover - Photography, LAM won Bronze for the November 2019 cover “Nice Catch,” with photography by Stephen Dunn of a residential project in Santa Fe, New Mexico, by Surroundings Studio.

In the category of Feature Article Design, LAM won Silver for Timothy A. Schuler’s story on Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, “In Kīlauea’s Wake,” also in the November issue.

In the category of General Excellence, LAM won Silver. The three issues submitted for review were April, May, and June 2019. In the category of Feature Article, LAM won Gold for Jane Margolies’ June 2019 story “The Schoolyard Is Sick,” covering the work of Claire Latané, ASLA, on mental health in schoolyard design.

And finally, in the category of Single Topic Issue, LAM won Gold for the March 2019 special issue “Trees.” More information on the awards and the articles recognized can be found here

Attending the awards videocast on July 14 was the whole LAM team: Emily Cox, Leah Ghazarian, Chris McGee, Brad McKee, Jennifer Reut, and Lisa Schultz.
