ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action Plan

Sets the strategy for ASLA, Chapters, and members

The new ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action Plan for ASLA and ASLA Chapters directs all ASLA and Chapter climate and biodiversity programs and investments from 2026-2030. Goals and actions will be revisited and updated every five years until 2040.

A companion Climate & Biodiversity Action Plan for ASLA Members provides best practice guidance, toolkits, and resources for ASLA members and their firms and organizations to advance climate and biodiversity action within practice and academia.

ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action Committee (CBAC)

Implements the ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action Plan at the National ASLA Level

The ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action Committee (CBAC) provides input to ASLA leadership on strategies for advancing the role of landscape architecture in biodiversity and ecological restoration and mitigating and adapting to climate change. The committee develops educational resources and research for landscape architects and educators.

The committee is guided by a Chair and includes four subcommittees:

• Climate 
• Biodiversity
• Equity 
• Advocacy 

The CBAC advocacy subcommittee leads the ASLA Climate and Biodiversity Action Network (CBAN).

ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action Network (CBAN)

Enables regional collaboration on ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action goals and builds the capacity of ASLA Chapter Climate and Biodiversity Action Committees.

Supports the implementation of the ASLA Climate & Biodiversity Action Plan at the Chapter Level

Supports national and chapter committees and invests in research, programs, resources, and more to advance climate and biodiversity action work.

Leads efforts to decarbonize ASLA conference and business operations.

And makes commitments on behalf of the membership.
