Superintendent

Anchorage Parks and Recreation

Taylor Keegan, PLA, ASLA, is currently the Superintendent for Anchorage Parks and Recreation. For the past eleven years, she has built a career in public service, working at the intersection of planning, infrastructure, and the long-term care of public lands in Anchorage, Alaska. In her current role, Taylor helps guide the planning, design, and maintenance of capital projects and park infrastructure across one of the nation’s largest municipal park systems. Her work focuses on keeping public landscapes resilient, accessible, and welcoming places where people can gather, move, and enjoy the outdoors together.

Taylor joined the Municipality of Anchorage in 2015 and has grown into a leadership role within the Parks and Recreation. Her experience includes project management, public involvement, site planning, spatial data management, and non-motorized transportation planning. She works closely with staff, community members, elected officials, and partner organizations to move projects from early ideas through construction and long-term care. Working in Alaska’s northern environment has shaped her interest in climate-responsive design and the stewardship of large public land systems that support both the environment and community life.

Taylor earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the College of Wooster and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Temple University, where she focused on ecological restoration and public lands. Her background in political science continues to shape how she approaches public service, with a focus on collaboration, listening, and building strong community partnerships.
