Lara Guldenpfennig, ASLA

Lara is a landscape architect with HDR, Inc. in West Des Moines. She earned her BLA from Iowa State University in 2004. With over 18 years of experience, Lara has worked on numerous multi-disciplinary projects across the nation finding passion in streetscape revitalization, parks and trail systems, sports complexes, and stormwater best management practices. She is actively involved with the Iowa ASLA chapter and has served in the role of Secretary, Vice President, and President. Her advocacy is focused on increasing female student enrollment in landscape architecture, encouraging women within the profession to obtain licensure, and, most recently, promoting National ASLA’s Climate Action Plan within the shorelines of Iowa.  Outside the office, Lara enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, their two daughters, Rylie and Victoria, and their numerous fur-kids.  She is an avid crocheter, loves being involved with her community and is a well-versed dance mom.
