Andrew Wickham is a landscape architect whose career bridges design excellence, climate leadership, and professional advocacy. For the past nineteen years, he has worked as a lead designer with LPA’s Sacramento Studio, leading the design of sustainable outdoor environments for projects of all scales throughout California and Texas. Andrew is a strong collaborator, working hand-in-hand with architects, engineers, clients and stakeholders to deliver projects that advance climate action and create meaningful spaces for all species, not just humans.
Andrew has made lasting contributions to the advancement of landscape architecture, emerging as one of the profession’s clearest voices, strategic thinkers, and catalysts for climate leadership. Working at the intersection of policy, public communication, and professional practice, he has helped reshape how landscape architects understand their role in addressing climate and biodiversity challenges. His ability to provide roadmaps, resources, and messaging strategies has accelerated the field’s movement toward a climate positive future and influenced how practitioners across the United States approach their design work today.
Alongside his professional practice, Andrew is deeply active in the American Society of Landscape Architects. At the national level, he has contributed to multiple committees, including the Membership Services Committee, Leadership Development Committee, and most recently is in his third term as co chair of the Advocacy Subcommittee of ASLA’s Climate + Biodiversity Action Committee. Andrew was also the Advocacy Lead of Landscape Architecture 2040: Climate and Biodiversity Action Plan, ASLA’s roadmap for aligning the profession with global climate and biodiversity goals. Through this work—and through trainings, webinars, and public facing campaigns—he has helped reframe everyday practice as climate action.
