About Alma DuSolier

Alma Du Solier, studio director and partner at Hood Design Studio, blends environmental planning with landscape design. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from ITESM Monterrey and refined her landscape approach under Walter Hood at UC Berkeley. As the third member of Hood Design Studio, she contributed to landmark projects like the DeYoung Museum, helping elevate the firm’s cultural presence. After work across Latin America, China, and the Bay Area, she returned to Hood Design and to teaching at UC Berkeley, where she has been a design studio lecturer for more than 15 years.

Renowned for bridging gaps among designers, clients, and consultants, Alma excels as a communicator who orchestrates harmonious, narrative-rich solutions. With nearly three decades of experience, she manages projects of all scales with clarity and care. She has served on the Board of the Landscape Architecture Foundation for eight years, including as President in 2024–2025.
