ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The CLARB Exam Success Grants is a reimbursement-based program funded by CLARB and administered by the ASLA Fund. It is designed to reduce financial barriers to licensure for eligible L.A.R.E. candidates who demonstrate financial need and have limited access to other financial support.

Who Can Apply?

The CLARB Exam Success Grants is intended for candidates pursuing landscape architecture licensure who meet the eligibility requirements for the applicable examination cycle.

Apply for the CLARB Exam Success Grants 
Eligible to pursue landscape architecture licensure
Active L.A.R.E. candidate in a CLARB member jurisdiction
Registered, or meet registration requirements, for the applicable exam cycle
No access to employer reimbursement, GI Bill benefits, a 529 plan, or other licensure assistance covering exam fees

Submit your application for the CLARB Exam Success Grants when the exam application window opens.

The ASLA Fund reviews eligibility and financial need to select grant recipients.

Sit for your scheduled section of the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.).

CLARB confirms successful completion and passing results directly with the ASLA Fund.

Receive Reimbursement

Approved recipients receive reimbursement for their exam fees. You can apply again for subsequent sections as you advance.

The grant reimburses eligible L.A.R.E. candidates in financial need for exam costs — approximately $545 per section—subject to program requirements. Reimbursement is issued after you pass each exam and your application is approved.
