LAM Wins Five ASBPE Awards

Landscape Architecture Magazine earned national and regional honors for editorial excellence, publication design, and profile.

Landscape Architecture Magazine was recognized in five categories by the 2026 American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE), taking home “Azbee” Awards at both the regional and national levels from one of the most competitive awards programs in business-to-business media. The Azbees recognize excellence in editorial, design, and digital publishing across trade, association, and professional publications.

At the national awards presentation on May 14, LAM received a Gold Award for Design Excellence and an Honorable Mention for Magazine of the Year. The latter is one of ASBPE’s prestigious Overall Excellence categories, recognizing sustained distinction in editorial vision, design, reader service, and execution across an entire publication.

At the regional Mid-Atlantic Azbees in April, LAM received three additional awards. Art director Chris McGee and senior graphic designer Kristen Mastroianni’s work was recognized with a Gold Award in Publication Design for the magazine’s overall art direction and another Gold Award in Print Article Design for “The Lessons of Little Island,” from the March 2025 issue. LAM also earned a Silver Award in Individual Profile, for writer Sala Elise Patterson’s feature on Elizabeth Kennedy, with photography by Sahar Coston-Hardy. The awards reflect the efforts of the entire LAM staff, the support of ASLA colleagues, and the landscape architects, writers, photographers, and other contributors whose projects and stories fill the magazine each month.
