Just Communities Accredited Practitioner Foundations CourseRegistration deadline: April 15, 2024 This live Zoom course, taking place April 18-19, will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the framework that puts racial equity and climate resilience at the heart of every decision. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with peers in small groups and reflect on understanding and operationalizing equity together.
RFQ: Memorial to the Enslaved at James Madison’s MontpelierDeadline: April 20, 2024 The Montpelier Descendants Committee and The Montpelier Foundation are seeking letters of interest and supporting materials from qualified landscape architects, architects, and/or artists, as individuals or in teams, to develop a design for a memorial at the Montpelier Burial Ground of the Enslaved at Montpelier in Orange, Virginia. The Montpelier memorial will honor the lives and contributions of the approximately 300 people who were enslaved at James Madison’s Montpelier and an unknown number who were enslaved at the surrounding plantations owned by the Madisons and others.
RFQ: Schematic Design at Lake HiawathaDeadline: April 23, 2024 The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is seeking consultant team qualifications for schematic design work at Lake Hiawatha. Over the next year, the MPRB and a team of landscape architects, golf course architects, engineers and other design professionals will be building upon the water management studies and the park’s adopted plan to further develop the design for the Lake Hiawatha area and golf course.
RFP: Grand River Public Art PlanDeadline: April 26, 2024 Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., in partnership with local stakeholders, seeks a qualified facilitator or team of firms to facilitate the creation of a cohesive curatorial vision and plan of action for riverfront public art along the Grand River Greenway in Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Public Art Plan will be largely focused on commissioned or curated permanent installations such as anchoring gateway pieces and site-specific sculptural work.
Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) Ignite Program Deadline for mentors to apply: April 11, 2024 Deadline for students to apply: May 15, 2024 LAF is accepting applications from students for the third cohort of LAF Ignite, which begins in fall 2024. Ignite is a multi-year program with three core components: an annual scholarship, paid summer internships, and ongoing mentorship.
