WxLA 2022 Scholarship

Date: 8/4/2022 - 8/31/2022

Type: Competitions / Awards

LA CES approved?: No

Location(s): US

Description:

The purpose of this award is to aid in the professional development and success of emerging and mid-career leaders in our profession by covering the costs associated with attendance at the Conference on Landscape Architecture in San Francisco.

The 2022 ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture will offer more than 100 educational opportunities, allowing attendees to fulfill their professional development requirements in four days (November 11-14).

Nominees/applicants must be early to mid-career (in first ten years of practice) who do not have access or support to attend the conference otherwise. The scholarship intends to promote gender justice and help level the playing field for designers of underrepresented genders in the profession. As such, preference will be given to non-cis males, including cis women, trans women, trans men, and non-binary people. Given our focus on early to mid-career professionals, currently enrolled students are ineligible.

Nominators/applicants are encouraged to submit the name of a colleague or self-nominate.

Please provide the following for nominees on one 8-1/2x11 page, pdf-format:

  • Full name, email address and phone number
  • Gender identity and race/ ethnicity (optional)
  • About this Nominee - Provide an overview of the nominee’s background, education and professional experience (150 words)
  • Why this Nominee? - Describe how this nominee exhibits leadership and why they will benefit from the experience of the Conference (200 words)
