WLAM

World Landscape Architecture Month

What is World Landscape Architecture Month

April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM). Established by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), WLAM is a month-long international celebration of landscape architecture and designed public and private spaces. People and communities around the world have deep, long-standing personal connections to the spaces landscape architects create – they’re just not aware of it. During WLAM, ASLA and landscape architects around the world aim to demonstrate that connection by highlighting landscape architect-designed spaces.

How Does ASLA Celebrate WLAM

This year, the American Society of Landscape Architects will celebrate WLAM 2020 with the “Life Grows Here” campaign.

All month, the American Society of Landscape Architects, our chapters in states and schools across the country, and our members around the world will help to showcase all the ways in which life grows in the spaces landscape architects create.

Throughout the month, ASLA will highlight landscape architecture projects and spaces that form the fabric of the communities they serve. We will engage our members to reach out to their elected leaders and advocate for issues important to the field, like professional licensure and parks legislation. We’ll highlight educational opportunities, career discovery outreach tools, and practice resources members can use in their own lives.

Our social media feeds on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn will showcase notable projects, practitioners, and progress in the field using the hashtags #WLAM2020 and #LifeGrowsHere. Student and Professional chapters will take over our Instagram to highlight their great work.

*In light of the current pandemic, please be mindful of social distancing & shelter-in-place guidance from the CDC and local officials.
