Call to Action Progress Updates

Expo2025 Crow Fair / Bryan Singer, Apsaalooke (Crow Nation)

2025

  • The Indigenous Collective Group (ICG) formed. The ICG is a network of Indigenous landscape architects, designers, and allies. The ICG seeks to create a community “guided by interconnectedness, creativity, and cultural continuity—where Indigenous voices are upheld, diverse worldviews are celebrated, and care for community and land is central.” Their goal is to “weave Indigenous voices and lifeways into the field of landscape architecture.”

  • At the ASLA 2025 Conference on Landscape Architecture in New Orleans, the ICG hosted a follow-up forum on the Call to Action, multiple educational sessions, the first Indigenous youth workshop at an ASLA conference, and gatherings of Indigenous landscape architects and community members. They collaborated with the United Houma Nation to provide a blessing and welcoming message at the ASLA 2025 Conference opening general session.
