Seeking Volunteers: DiscoverE’s Future City Competition for Middle School Students!

Future City Logo / futurecity.org

Each year, ASLA hosts the Special Award Best Integration of Equity in Designing the Built Environment using Nature-Powered Solutions, which introduces students to landscape architecture and design principles.

DiscoverE is currently seeking volunteers to join judge panels and connect with student participants for live Q&A sessions. Judges will be given a scoring rubric to evaluate the teams and questions for team members (you can ask your own questions too!).

This year’s Living on the Moon theme challenged teams to design a futuristic lunar city that uses two Moon resources to keep its residents safe and healthy. Judges will hear creative ideas about Moon life and innovative city features and operations, as well as lessons that teams learned about engineering and problem-solving.

This volunteer opportunity allows you to connect with the next generation of problem solvers, including landscape architects! Sign up to volunteer, get inspired for our future, and leave a lasting impression on young participants! See details below.

Date: Saturday, March 6

Time: 10:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. ET / 7:00a.m – 1:00p.m. PT
