Summer Camp Fun with Landscape Architecture

As we approach the end of the year, parents are juggling social schedules, finalizing projects at work, and staring down the barrel of summer month planning - when kids are out of school. It’s easy for parents and students to overlook summer camps that highlight landscape architecture.

With growing interest in STEM-based summer camps, ASLA wants to help families discover options that blend STEM with outdoor learning adventures and design on the Summer Camp Fun with Landscape Architecture webpage. Using the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion K-12 Architecture and Design Environmental Scan (August 2017, American Institute of Architects), we’ve highlighted several summer learning opportunities for students in grades Pre K-12. With help from ASLA members, we've discovered a few new programs, too!

If you’re interested in finding a STEM-based summer program, our members compiled a list of design programs from across the country.  If we missed a program in your local area, please email details (including hyperlinks) to Lisa J. Jennings, manager, career discovery and diversity at discover@asla.org.
