Humboldt Redwood Product Profile

Humboldt Redwood offers a full line of solid sawn redwood and Douglas-fir timbers for structural and decorative applications including arbors, garden boxes, gazebos, pergolas, shade structures, and trellis. Headquartered in Northern California, Humboldt Redwood consists of 210,000 acres of timberlands. Together with sister company, Mendocino Redwood, the combined timberlands number upwards of 440,000 acres. Two sawmills in Northern California and a distribution network throughout the Western U.S. supply the companies’ products to dealer partners.

From the beginning, the companies’ stated purpose has been to demonstrate that it is possible to manage productive timberlands with a high standard of environmental stewardship, and also operate a successful business. To this end, the companies maintain Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C013133) certification across the timberlands, manufacturing, and distribution operations. FSC is an independent, non-profit organization that sets rigorous standards under which forests and companies are certified. Wood-based products bearing the FSC trademark provide a guarantee that those products were sourced in a sustainable manner.

A popular alternative to cedar timbers, redwood timbers from Humboldt Redwood are available in 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch dimension in lengths up to 20 feet in both rough and surfaced finish characteristics. Redwood timbers from Humboldt Redwood have been used commercially in hospitality venues including Jeriko Estate Resort & Winery and ZO Wines Estate. Extensive use of Humboldt Redwood timbers can also be found at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California.

Douglas-fir timbers from Humboldt Redwood are available rough and surfaced. Rough green Douglas-fir timbers are available in 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch dimension, #1&Better FOHC Full Sawn, in lengths from 8–20 feet. Surfaced green Douglas-fir timbers are available in nominal 3-inch, 4-inch, and 6-inch dimension, in a variety of grades and lengths.
