2018 Diversity Summit Participant Represents ASLA at Two Design Conferences

Gloria Lau, ASLA, is an urban designer/landscape architect at HNTB, and one of many participants from the American Society of Landscape Architects’ annual Diversity Summit. She is working to carry out the recommendations outlined at the 2018 Summit. Click here to access the full 2018 Diversity Summit Report.

Lau collaborated with Annie Bergelin, ASLA, for the past two years to organize the annual joint conference between the ASLA, APA, and AIA New York Chapters with other key members from the organizations. The conference emphasized multi-disciplinary topics that appealed to practitioners across the three disciplines.

Lau also played a key role in organizing Hindsight, a conference on urban planning through an equity lens. Hosted by the APA-NYM Diversity Committee, Lau created the brand, graphic, and communication materials for Hindsight. The conference attracted more than 430 attendees, and included 28 sessions with diverse, multi-disciplinary speakers and four site tours.
