Join us on August 9 we’ll be hosting an exciting and informative green roof tour and reception at the John Ball Zoo. The event will be hosted by Allmon Forester, the Director of Facilities, Planning & Sustainability at the Zoo. The tour will take place from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM and provide a unique opportunity to explore the zoo's impressive green roof. Following the tour, attendees will have the chance to network with other professionals at the Bissell Treehouse reception from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to learn from and connect with industry leaders.

On August 10, we'll be featuring a plenary session of expert speakers covering a wide range of topics, including the latest developments in building with purpose, green initiatives in public transportation, and a showcase of our LAPT certified buildings and alternative funding methods. This day is pending approval for 7 CEUs from AIA, ASLA, and is approved for 7 GRP credits.

Expert speakers include:
  • Randy Hayman, City of Philadelphia Stormwater Commissioner
    Randy shares an inspiring story of Philadelphia's stormwater programs transforming communities, improving social interaction, and creating economic opportunities.
  • Ken Yonker, Kent County Stormwater Commissioner. 
    Ken will discuss Kent County's stormwater management history, current state, and future direction, including collaborations benefiting natural resources and citizens.
  • Rachel Hood, Michigan State Representative, 3rd term. 
    Rachel's expertise in urban investment, water conservation, and energy solutions has driven her advocacy for climate, water, health, education, and veterans.
