American Society of Landscape Architects Council of Fellows Scholarship

• Eligible applicants must be permanent U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens who are third, fourth, or fifth-year undergraduates of landscape architecture at a Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB) accredited school.
• Two $4,000 awards, one of which is only available to minority students.

Boston Society of Landscape Architects  Student Scholarships

• Scholarship applicants must be legal residents of or attending a school in Maine, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire; the applicant must be enrolled in an LAAB accredited landscape architecture program at the university level.

Clara Carter Higgins Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship and the GCA Awards for Summer Environmental Studies 

• For undergraduate students following their freshman, sophomore, or junior years doing field work, research, or classroom work in an environmental field.
• Provides two or more scholars $2,000 each.

Connecticut ASLA Student Scholarship

• Scholarship applicants must be legal residents of Connecticut and enrolled in an LAAB accredited landscape architecture or environmental education program at the college or university level.
• Two $2,500 scholarships

Courtland Paul Scholarship (LAF)

• Eligible candidates are U.S. citizens who are undergraduate students at an LAAB-accredited school in their final two years of study with a need for financial assistance.
• One $5,000 award

EDSA Minority Scholarship (LAF)

• To help minority students continue their landscape architecture education.

Elizabeth Gardner Norweb Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship

Garden Club Association Award in Coastal Wetlands Studies

• One-year scholarship for graduate studies at a university within the U.S. to support field-based research on wetlands conservation.
• Stipend is $5,000

Garden Club Association Award in Desert Studies 

• Applicants must be an advanced undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited U.S. university studying horticulture, conservation, botany, environmental science and landscape design relating to the arid landscape.
• Awards one or more scholars $4,000

Katherine M. Grosscup Scholarships 

• Open to college juniors, seniors or graduate students majoring in horticulture or related fields with preference given to students from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia.
• Several scholarships up to $3,500

Landscape Architecture Foundation Olmsted Scholars Program

• The Olmsted Scholars Program recognizes one outstanding student leader from each university with an accredited landscape architecture program. Olmsted Scholars are nominated by faculty — students do not apply directly.
• One $25,000 national award; all nominees are recognized as University Olmsted Scholars

Landscape Forms Design for People Scholarship (LAF)

Loy McCandless Marks Scholarship in Tropical Horticulture

• For well-qualified U.S. advanced undergraduates or graduate students specializing in tropical horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture at a foreign institution.

Peridian International, Inc./Rae L. Price, FASLA Scholarship (LAF)

ULI Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition

• Applicants must be graduate students with experience in real estate or design to provide an urban plan and a financial feasibility strategy for a pre-designated large-scale site.
• Winning team receives $50,000; runners up receive $10,000

Fellowships

Dangermond Fellowship (LAF)

• Individual applicants must be graduate students studying landscape architecture. If a part of a team, one member must be majoring in landscape architecture.
• Proposed projects should use geographic information systems to explore integrated approaches to landscape assessment and intervention.
•  Up to three $10,000 awards

Douglas Dockery Thomas Fellowship in Garden History and Design (LAF)  

• Eligible candidates are graduate students studying at U.S. institution
• Proposed projects can range from investigating new techniques of garden restoration to documenting the impacts of community gardens.
• One $4,000 award

Garden Club of America/Royal Horticultural Society Interchange Fellowships

• The RHS Interchange Fellowship: Provides up to 12,000 GBP and enables one American student to spend ten months working and studying at leading horticultural centers or historic and botanic gardens in the UK.
• The GCA Interchange Fellowship: Provides up to US$30,000 and enables a British recipient to attend a graduate program in horticulture, landscape architecture, or environmental studies at a US university for one academic year or for a one-year internship at Longwood Gardens in the US.

Garden Club Association VI Fellowship in Urban Forestry

• Applicant must be an advanced undergraduate or graduate student studying urban forestry, environmental studies, horticulture, forestry, or related courses. Students must be enrolled during the academic year following the award
• Funds one or more students $4,000 each.

Rome Prize Fellowship in Landscape Architecture

• Landscape architecture, historic preservation and conservation, and architecture fellowships are provided, among many other fields.
• Provides up to 30 fellows room and board, a study or studio, and a stipend. Stipends for six-month fellowships are $12,500 and stipends for eleven-month fellowships are $25,000.

Star Fellowship

• Applicants must be master or doctoral level students in environment-related fields of study.
• Provides up to $37,000 per year of support. Master level may receive support for a maximum of two years; Doctoral students may be supported for a maximum of three to four years.

Switzer Environmental Fellowship Program

• To support graduate students in New England and California whose studies are directed toward improving environmental quality and who demonstrate leadership in their field.
• The fellowship provides a one-year, $13,000 cash award for graduate study as well as networking and leadership support to awardees. Twenty fellowships are awarded each year (ten in California and ten in New England).
