The 2025 World Landscape Architecture (WLA) Shanghai International Forum will be hosted by the School of Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Centered on the theme “Future Fusion”, the forum is dedicated to promoting deep integration and cross-disciplinary innovation in forward-looking theories and practices of habitat design. The event will also feature the WLA Selected Projects Exhibition and WLA Student Awards Ceremony.

Open Call

WLA calls for two speakers and two students to participate in the 2025 WLA Shanghai International Forum.

Professionals and Academics

We are seeking one professional speaker for the Pioneering Design Forum and one academic the Academic Design Forum.

The Pioneering Design Forum will discuss pioneering/new trends in design and how they aim to create a better future. Presentations should discuss the topic in general information and go beyond their own project design work.

The Academic Design Forum will discuss current teaching curriculum, including design theory and design studios that seek to advance the study of landscape architecture and the profession for the future. Speakers should discuss the topic beyond their own studios and teaching to provide broad ideas and discussion.

Students

We are also seeking two students (including recent graduates) to participate in the Future Newcomer Workshop to exchange views and discuss the declaration on “Climate Change and the Responsibility of Future Designers”.
