Dear LAREy: How Can I Prep for the L.A.R.E. Without Breaking the Bank?

Dear LAREy,

I’m trying to be smart about budgeting for the L.A.R.E. and want to get the most value from my study resources. I’ve heard ASLA hosts low-cost prep workshops during the annual conference—is that true? If so, are they worth attending?

Thanks,

Studying on a Shoestring (Minneapolis, MN)

 Dear Studying on a Shoestring,

You heard right—and here’s the scoop: ASLA’s LARE Prep Workshops are back during the 2025 Conference on Landscape Architecture. When you register for the conference you can add on the in-person LARE Prep Workshops.

All four workshops will be held on Friday, October 10, during the first day of the conference in New Orleans. These targeted sessions offer expert-led instruction, real-world insight, and strategies to help you tackle the L.A.R.E. with confidence.

Early-bird pricing is open now through June 24! The LARE Prep events start at just $100 or $150, depending on the workshop. After June 24, prices increase to $150 and $200, so act fast to get the best deal.

Can’t make it to New Orleans in person? You can still attend the workshops live virtually via Zoom. Virtual rates are the same as in-person rates, but virtual registration is handled separately at learn.asla.org

Bonus: All workshop attendees—whether in person or virtual—receive access to the session recordings, so you can rewatch and reinforce your learning on your own time.

Register now and get all the details at aslaconference.com. This is the lowest price these workshops will ever be, so don’t wait!

You’ve got this,

LAREy
