Landscape architects’ leadership in advocacy is especially urgent now, as green infrastructure and bicycle projects face new challenges. A recent U.S. Department of Transportation memo threatens to strip these essential projects of federal funding—undermining efforts that promote public health, equitable mobility, and climate resilience.

This is not just a policy shift, it’s a call to action. Linear landscapes and green infrastructure are often led by landscape architects, and their future depends on our collective voice. Recently, nearly 1,654 landscape architecture advocates signed ASLA’s letter to U.S. DOT Secretary Sean Duffy highlighting the benefits of bicycle projects and green infrastructure. Webinar participants will also learn how to take additional advocacy steps to defend this critical infrastructure that shapes healthier, more connected communities.
