ASLA 2023 Conference: LGBTQIA+ Walk to Loring Park

At the ASLA 2023 Conference in Minneapolis, the LGBTQIA+ Walk to Loring Park aims to bring together LGBTQIA+ and allied landscape architecture professionals and students to provide a space for networking and storytelling.

From an educational perspective, this event aims to highlight documented LGBTQIA+ histories of the Twin Cities in a place of historic and contemporary importance for this community.

The Walk will encourage participants to reflect on these histories and share their own stories and personal experiences at the intersection of identity and design.

To this end, the Walk is meant to provide a safe and encouraging space for LGBTQIA+ designers to gather and discuss emerging issues in design fields.

LGBTQIA+ professionals, students, and advocates are welcome to attend this free event. Attendees should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for potentially cool Minnesota weather.

We will gather at the Minneapolis Convention Center front lawn at noon on October 29th.

The event is scheduled to end at Loring Park at 1:30 PM.

The LGBTQIA+ Walk to Loring Park is organized by University of Minnesota students and local professionals and is sponsored by ASLA-MN.
