Registration and ticket sales for the ASLA Annual Meeting and EXPO are pacing significantly ahead of the previous three annual meetings, with more than 2,700 attendees preregistered and the number climbing.
Registration and ticket prices will increase after September 16. Attendees who register prior to that not only save money, but also will receive their badges and tickets by mail before the meeting and can avoid long lines at registration.
Five field sessions are already sold out, with four others closing in on ticket limits. Nearly 400 tickets have been sold to the Gala, and nearly 300 tickets have been sold to the Council of Fellows Investiture Dinner, far ahead of ticket sales for these events the same number of weeks prior to the 2010 annual meeting.
The official meeting hotels are booking up quickly too, with nearly 70 percent of the total room block filled.
“Early indications are that this will be a very large meeting, and we are planning accordingly,” says Joyce DePass, ASLA’s Director of Meetings and Special Programs. “San Diego is a fantastic location for ASLA: It’s a beautiful city for landscape architects to explore, it’s easy to get to, the hotels and convention center are amazing, and it’s very affordable for our attendees.”
Annual Meeting - Expo
EXPO booth sales and sponsorships are also on course to set a new record, with more than 92 percent of exhibit space sold. “Not only are all of our attendees’ favorite exhibitors returning, we have nearly 100 new exhibitors so far this year,” says Daryl Brach, ASLA’s Senior Sales Manager. “Our sales team targeted products our attendees requested in last year’s post-meeting survey, so we have a lot of new furniture, lighting, paving, masonry, and water management exhibitors this year. We also are very excited to have Autodesk with us for the first time, given how heavily our members use their software.”
