The Society of Architectural Historians annually recognizes distinguished publications in architectural history, urban history, landscape history, preservation, and architectural exhibition catalogues. Visit the SAH website to download specific submission criteria and instructions for each award:

- Exhibition Catalogue Award
- Alice Davis Hitchcock Book Award
- Historic Interiors Article Award
- Spiro Kostof Book Award
- Elisabeth Blair MacDougall Book Award - for the most distinguished work of scholarship in the history of landscape architecture or garden design
Award for Film & Video
Established in 2013, the award recognizes distinguished works of film or video on the history of the built environment. Film or video topics may be any aspect of the built environment including the history of buildings, interiors, monuments, landscapes, cultural landscapes, urbanism, designers, engineers, clients, preservation, conservation, citizen engagement, or other topics related to the history of the built environment. Nominated films or videos must have an initial release date within the past three years (2022, 2023 or 2024).
