Once an open landfill, Millennium Park is now home to six-miles of handicap-accessible pedestrian paths, a canoe launch, athletic fields, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The 100-acre park, designed by CDM Smith and Brown Richardson and Rowe, is built upon excavated soil from the Big Dig and offers unparalleled views of the surrounding area including the Boston skyline.

The path network provides access to connecting trails, the adjacent wetlands and Charles River. The close proximity to downtown Boston makes the park a popular destination for families and individuals and is host to numerous local sporting events.
