Jeremy Martin / Mary Lydecker

Jeremy Martin, ASLA, and Mary Lydecker, ASLA, are associates at Hargreaves Associates, a leading landscape architecture firm with offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, San Francisco, and New York City.

Jeremy, who grew up in coastal Louisiana, received his BLA from the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University, and transplanted to Boston in 2008. The contrasts between rural, suburban, and urban life have instilled an appreciation for the challenges facing new green space development and preservation of critical natural landscape ecosystems.

He specializes in designing public spaces for recreation and transportation, with a focus on effectively organizing client vision, user needs, available resources, and future management strategies into successful community-oriented and sustainable landscapes. Recent project experience includes Crescent Park in New Orleans, and Cumberland Park in Nashville.

Mary’s experience includes work from masterplan to site scale. Recent projects include Denver Union Station, Richmond Riverfront Plan, and Fort Worth Trinity River Promenade. She has a particular interest in the productive potential of urban infrastructure and marginal open space. Her research has been published in The International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability and Oecologia Australis; and presented at the Northeastern Transportation & Wildlife Conference and the International Federation of Landscape Architects'Americas Regional Conference in Santiago, Chile. 

Mary holds a master's in landscape architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a bachelor of arts from Williams College. She is a LEED AP BD+C accredited professional,  and is committed to sustainable and resilient design.
