The Robert McBride House

Located in the Fenway neighborhood, this former service alley is now a site of healing and refuge. The Robert McBride House is owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Boston and serves as an assisted living home for people with HIV and drug/alcohol addictions.

Designed by Reed Hilderbrand, the garden is an oasis of calm. The project's success is found in its ability to maintain a feeling of seclusion in the middle of a bustling Boston neighborhood. It is easy to miss from the street (a strength in this case). Simply look for the sign and walk down the alley to your right.
