LAF Scholarships Feb 1 Deadline Approaching

The Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF), a leading provider of scholarships for landscape architecture students, has $161,000 available through 17 different scholarships. Qualified candidates are reminded to apply!
LAF scholarships are open to students enrolled at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. Additional eligibility requirements vary by award. Applications are due February 1.
New for 2022
Two new scholarships have been established, and several existing scholarships have additional awards or increased award amounts.
- Kenneth R. Brooks MLA Research Scholarship
This new $5,000 scholarship supports a continuing MLA student based on thesis or capstone research that contributes to advancing the discipline. - LandDesign Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Scholarships
These two new awards, which include $5,000 and mentorship, will support undergraduate students who identify as BIPOC and have financial need. - Landscape Forms Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarships
With support from the Marjorie K. Simmons Foundation, a second $5,000 award has been added for BIPOC undergraduate students. - LAF Honor Scholarship in Memory of Joe Lalli, FASLA
A new $10,000 runner-up award will be made in addition to the $20,000 winner and $5,000 runner-up. - LAF Honor Scholarship for Inclusive Community Design
In addition to the $10,000 winner, the runner-up award has increased to $5,000. - Rain Bird Intelligent Use of Water™ Scholarship
The award amount has doubled to $5,000 for an undergraduate landscape architecture, horticulture or irrigation science student.

Location-Specific Scholarships
These awards range from $2,000 to $5,000 and are limited to students who are from or studying in specific schools or regions.

To date, the Landscape Architecture Foundation has awarded more than $1.4 million in scholarships to 585 students. These awards are made possible through funds established by the generous sponsors of each scholarship and their commitment to support the next generation of landscape architects.
