Conversations with Olmsted Series to Welcome Park Leaders

Conversations with Olmsted: Creating Parks for the Ages | Olmsted 200

On July 20 at 3 PM ET, Olmsted 200 will present the second webinar in the Conversations with Olmsted series. Following up on the debut discussion hosted by ASLA and NRPA, which explored Olmsted’s travels in the South, this webinar will continue our exploration of Frederick Law Olmsted’s far-reaching influence on America’s physical landscape and social fabric. Karen Phillips, FASLA, 2021 LAF Medal Honoree, will moderate the conversation with three innovative leaders of historic Olmsted parks.

Speakers include:

  • Susan Donoghue, President and Park Administrator of Prospect Park Alliance and NYC Parks.
  • Layla George, President/CEO of the Olmsted Parks Conservancy in Louisville, KY.
  • Jennifer Ott,  Assistant Director of HistoryLink and a Steering Committee Member of Volunteer Park Trust in Seattle, WA.

Park leaders will speak from their own experiences, sharing the opportunities and challenges that their organizations have faced throughout the pandemic, the Black Lives Matter Movement, continued budget cuts, and more.

Conversations with Olmsted: Creating Parks for the Ages is free and open to the public. To register for the event, visit the event page.

This program is being hosted by the National Association for Olmsted Parks for Olmsted 200. To learn more about Olmsted 200, visit Follow Olmsted 200 on social media @Olmsted200 and be sure to participate in the #PicMyPark campaign
