The Urban Studio Gears up for Pardon Our Disruption

The Urban Studio is thrilled to announce a three-part virtual event series, Pardon Our Disruption, a kickoff to its end-of-year virtual fundraising campaign. Supporting these events helps create pathways for young professionals and shake up the landscape architecture profession in order to accelerate our efforts toward a more equitable future for all. Please save the dates for these upcoming events curated and hosted by Urban Studio:

Dec 1: Upset the Set Up (1PM PST/4PM EST)
Join us for an interactive workshop to learn about effective co-creation tools and methods for meaningful community engagement. Facilitated by The Urban Studio’s creative engagement experts Daví de la Cruz and Jenn Low.

Dec 8: Interrupt the Program (1PM PST/4PM EST)
Take a peek Inside The Urban Studio to learn from trailblazing leaders who are transforming the built environment toward equity and justice.

Dec 15: Digitize the Revolution (1PM PST/4PM EST)
Explore the intersection of mapping and social justice as we demonstrate how to democratize data using open-source assets and live mapping with QGIS.

About The Urban Studio

The Urban Studio was launched in 2019 to help train and support high-school-age youth from communities of color who are interested in careers in design. The Urban Studio was founded by four landscape architects—Kendra Hyson, ASLA; Maisie Hughes; Daví de la Cruz; and Andrew Sargeant, ASLA—who connected through the Landscape Architecture Foundation’s Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership.
