Practice Resources for Members: The ASLA Business Toolkit

Landscape architecture is a distinctly multidisciplinary field, and landscape architects must be knowledgeable in many areas to succeed. For those in private practice, from sole practitioners to those at large firms, both design creativity and business acumen are needed to sustain a design practice and make their work a profitable enterprise.

ASLA’s Business Toolkit was created by the Professional Practice Committee to ensure members can locate all of ASLA’s offerings in one place. This page compiles business resources, including ASLA’s Standard Form Contracts, Salary Survey Custom Reports, project management resources, and places to seek out new opportunities for business development.

The toolkit includes sections on:

• Business Management
• Project Management
• Business Opportunities
• Additional Resources and Reading

The Business Toolkit is a living resource. New items currently under development will be added later this year as ASLA and the Professional Practice Committee continue their focus on resources to support members’ businesses and practice.
