Call for Entries—2014 Tucker Design Awards

Sponsored by the Building Stone Institute, the Tucker Design Awards honors those who have achieved excellence in design through the incorporation and use of natural stone in their building or landscape design project. The Tucker Designs Awards are presented biennially.

The 2014 Tucker Design Awards and Bybee Prize presentation will be held at Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple in Oak Park, Illinois, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. This daytime event will begin with a late morning awards presentation followed by a celebratory luncheon. Transportation from downtown Chicago will be provided. 
Building Stone 1
Optional Tucker Design Awards events include a networking tour of BSI member Lurvey Landscape Supply in Volo, Illinois, Tuesday afternoon, June 24. Transportation from downtown Chicago is provided. A riverboat architectural tour following the awards ceremony is planned for Wednesday afternoon, June 25. A “Meet the Winners” reception will be held on the floor of the AIA National Convention and Expo at Chicago’s McCormick Center Thursday afternoon, June 26.

Esteemed jurors for the 2014 program will include Blair Kamin, architecture critic for the Chicago Tribune; Duncan G. Stroik, principal, Duncan G. Stroik Architect, LLC in South Bend, Indiana; and Peter Lindsay Schaudt, FASLA, partner, Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects, Chicago.

Entry deadline is August 16, 2013. Submission binders will be due on October 4, 2013, with the jury session planned for October 25, 2013.
