North Carolina Legislature Releases Draft Licensing Reform Bill

North Carolina Legislature Releases Draft Licensing Reform Bill

2016-03-16

The North Carolina legislature has released a draft licensing reform bill that does not include the deregulation of landscape architects. The draft bill is the result of a two-year study in which the evaluation committee initially concluded that further review of the landscape architects board was needed. Throughout the evaluation process the North Carolina Chapter conducted advocacy and outreach to both the evaluation committee and key legislators. A hearing was held this winter, at which several landscape architects testified. ASLA and the North Carolina Chapter will continue to monitor this legislation as it moves through the legislative process.
