On March 24, the House
Economic Affairs Committee voted to approve a committee substitute for HB
5005, which would have deregulated landscape architecture. The substitute
language removes landscape architecture from the bill along with deregulation
for several other professions. ASLA sends its congratulations to
its Florida Chapter, which heeded the call to action and successfully advocated
against this bill on behalf of the profession. Your advocacy
efforts, in conjunction with the diligence of your legislative affairs
consultant, have made possible this apparent victory over this piece of
crippling legislation. Congratulations, Florida ASLA!
