Date: 11/8/2019 - 12/16/2019

Type: RFPs / RFQs

LA CES approved?: No

Location(s): North Carolina

Description: The City of Raleigh (CoR) is seeking a multi-disciplinary team with significant experience in creating high-quality urban parks. CoR is specifically seeking teams with experience in developing innovative and unique destination plaza and play landscapes and structures from concept to construction. A key component to this initial scope of work is to confirm, advance and implement the Gateway Plaza and Play area of the adopted Dorothea Dix Park Master Plan through a public planning process. The plaza and play area is 4-5 acres and will be a new, principle entrance to the park. As described in the Master Plan, visitors will be welcomed with play spaces for all ages, spectacular fountains, great public art, grand plazas, cookout zones, gardens and shaded areas to relax and enjoy with family and friends. The Gateway also includes two historic houses slated to be renovated to provide support for the plaza and play. Also included in the study area is a temporary parking area, extension of Grissom and Daladams Streets, incorporation of a multi-use path that will connect the eastern most edge of the park to the neighboring Farmer’s Market and transit stops.
For the complete RFQ, requests can be made via email: Grayson Maughan, Senior Planner, City of Raleigh, grayson.maughan@raleighnc.gov. Responses to the RFQ are due December 16, 2019 by 3:00 pm.
