Type: RFPs / RFQs

LA CES approved?: No

Description: The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) seeks to hire a qualified professional for permit expediting services for its Chinatown Green Streets Demonstration Project (CGSDP). This scope of work is to provide permit expediting services for ASLA in association with a Green Infrastructure (GI) project on the 600 block of Eye Street, NW, in the District of Columbia.

The CGSDP encompasses the public right of way on the north and south sides of Eye Street, NW, between 6th and 7th Streets, NW. The project will incorporate green stormwater management techniques that use plants and soil to slow, filter, and cleanse stormwater. Strategies that allow for water infiltration such as permeable paving and surfaces in the roadway and alleyways will also be incorporated. It will employ responsible and sensitive design that incorporates native plants to encourage pollinators and increase urban biodiversity. It will also design to provide safe access to all users including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit riders of all ages and abilities. The project will be a revitalized street corridor and enhanced environment for community residents, workers, businesses, and visitors to Washington’s historic Chinatown neighborhood. The project will also register for Sustainable SITES Initiative® (SITES®) certification.
