Description: The Smithsonian Institution is preparing a master plan for its South Mall Campus, which includes the Smithsonian Castle and adjacent museums and facilities on the National Mall. As part of this process, the Smithsonian developed three action alternatives and one no action alternative. As the lead federal agency for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Capital Planning Commission will evaluate the plan’s potential environmental impacts. Two public meetings will provide opportunities for attendees to learn more about the proposed master plan and the alternatives under consideration, and to provide feedback. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement is online and available for review and comment through January 16, 2018.

The program will take place at the National Capital Planning Commission, 401 9th Street, NW, Suite 500N
Washington, D.C., from 10 am - noon.
