Request for Proposals for the Dallas Water Gardens

Date: 7/24/2017 - 8/25/2017

Type: RFPs / RFQs

LA CES approved?: No

Location(s): Texas

Description: The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is requesting written proposals from consulting firms to develop a preliminary design for a system to improve water quality and develop cleansing wetlands within the Old Trinity River channel that is compatible with City of Dallas Trinity Watershed flood management plan and the proposed Dallas Water Gardens. This procurement is part of the environmental stewardship program approved by Regional Transportation Council in April 2016.

The Dallas Water Gardens is a multi-objective project to improve flood control, improve water quality, create public space, and revitalize the area around the Old Trinity River channel. The project will provide the public access to wetlands, other aquatic features, and a boardwalk at the original site of the Trinity River, which was re-routed away from downtown Dallas. As planned, the project includes terraced wetlands to filter stormwater and natural wetlands will be restored adjacent to the river.
