Mobil Oil Site Riverside Redevelopment Charette RFP
Date: 9/27/2013 - 11/8/2013
Redevelopment Authority (RDA) of the City of La Crosse is soliciting proposals for the purpose of preparing a Master Redevelopment Plan for what is
commonly known as the “Mobil Oil Site.” The Redevelopment Authority will be
following the NCI Charrette System™ process. The Redevelopment Authority is
seeking the firm or team with the most experience in using the NCI Charrette
System™ process, with special consideration given to the firm or team whose
members have completed the NCI Certification program.
The goal of the
project is to solicit community participation and input into the creation of a
master redevelopment plan for this area of the City. The project must result in
a master reuse plan that has broad community support and one that is also
feasible and developable (need to be able to recruit a developer and obtain
financing) in the market place. The ultimate development on the site must
reinforce the City’s 20-plus year effort at revitalizing Historic Downtown La
Crosse and not result in a plan that competes with or dilutes the downtown
revitalization efforts. This project must also reflect the key aspects of
neighborhood sustainability including location and linkages, neighborhood
pattern and design, and green infrastructure and buildings, as outlined in the
LEED ND® System. The redevelopment of this area is one that only presents itself
once in a generation.
