ASLA / Gensler The ASLA is transforming its outmoded headquarters building in Washington, DC’s Chinatown neighborhood into a world-class ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture that will provide an attractive state-of-the-art meeting, reception and exhibition venue for new and innovative ASLA educational programs, events, and exhibitions that advance understanding of the role landscape architects play in green and sustainable development. Designed to achieve LEED Platinum and WELL Silver levels of certification, the ASLA Center will embody the profession’s core value of stewardship, reflect the Society’s leadership in the design industry, and serve as a model for sustainable green building design. ASLA / Gensler The new Center will marry its existing award-winning green roof with a three-story atrium that uses natural-light harvesting to bring daylight into the core of the building and unify the work space. It will also provide a striking design element that reflects ASLA’s commitment to sustainable design. ASLA / Gensler Donors to the campaign for the ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture are recognized on the ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture Honor Roll.
