the lighting and will provide fixtures. Dow Chemical Company
is providing the extruded polystyrene insulation.
“ASLA selected these product suppliers because of their
experience in working with green roof projects and their enthusiasm
for promoting this sustainable building technology in the
United States,” said Nancy Somerville, executive vice
president and CEO of ASLA. “Our landscape architects
have worked closely with them to develop innovative and cost-effective
uses for their products to showcase the versatility of green
roof design. These suppliers have been very generous in sharing
their experience and technical expertise with our design and
construction team, and we are indeed fortunate to have them
partner with us on this project.”
The ASLA green roof will serve as a demonstration project,
showcasing the environmental and aesthetic value of green
roofs. The project is scheduled for dedication on April 26,
2006.
