Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, has just announced the winner of an international design competition that will create a new vision for its historic College Avenue campus in New Brunswick. The winning team is led by Enrique Norten of TEN Arquitectos and Ignacio Bunster-Ossa, ASLA, of the Philadelphia based landscape architectural and planning firm, Wallace, Roberts & Todd, LLC.
Five teams of prominent architects and landscape architects submitted design proposals that were on view during the month of October at the Rutgers Zimmerli Museum. The other competition teams included Eisenman Architects with Field Operations, Antoine Predock Architect with Olin Partnership, Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners/Alteliers Jean Nouvel with Oehme, van Sweden & Associates, Inc., and Morphosis – Thom Mayne with Hargreaves Associates. On October 30, 2006 all teams presented to a 12 person jury and to the University community and public.
