This year has been very challenging for the Parks and Recreation Professional Practice Network. We have seen the e-community become a very valuable tool for our committee to exchange thoughts and ideas related to parks and recreation issues. While this initiative is going well, it is now time to supplement our discussions with some organized committees to better serve our members. One challenge we still have is to increase the awareness of our public practitioners and the cutting edge projects they are doing for our parks and open space. More needs to be done to market these accomplishments to the entire membership through awards and recognition.
Please take a moment to consider actively chairing a committee or participating in one of the initiatives in the Parks and Recreation Professional Practice Network. I look forward to our meeting in Philadelphia on Monday, Oct. 6 from 9:45-11:15 a.m. Please plan to attend!
