Planning is well underway for the 2009 Annual Meeting in Chicago. While Chicago is widely known for its great architecture, this meeting of landscape architects will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the many initiatives the City of Chicago has undertaken in it goal of being one of the Greenest Cities in North America. The meeting will offer over 125 planned education sessions including more than 45 education sessions focused on sustainability and planning for landscape architects. This year there will be thirteen in depth field sessions including such topic areas as Green Roof Technology, Urban Heat Island Mitigation, and a hands-on approach to Prairie Restoration, Shoreline & Slope Stabilization, and the Greening of Chicago’s public ways. Chicago has become a living laboratory for sustainable design and we look forward to seeing you there.
