Message from Rob Tilson, FASLA
Chair, Council of Professional Practice Networks:

Dear Colleagues:

As you are well aware, landscape architects offer specialized skills in a variety of specific areas. The Professional Practice Networks afford our members the ability to share specialized information with one another and with the public through print and technical media and face-to-face gatherings, and to advance the diversity and strength of the society’s body of knowledge.

Therefore, we strongly encourage you to participate as a member in one or more of the Professional Practice Networks. Your involvement will help grow and expand professional expertise in your chosen areas of interest, whether it is through participating in e-Community discussions on topics of current interest, developing newsletter articles for your PPN(s) or sharing information about conference speakers and topics. Your own knowledge base, in turn, will expand by networking with your peers who share your interests and focus.

Contact the Chair of your network directly to see how you can get involved. Browse the websites and newsletters of other networks whose focus might overlap with yours. Also, attend one of the member sessions scheduled at the ASLA Annual meeting in Philadelphia for each network group. These are great opportunities to meet and greet the other members with shared interest and visions, and add to the vitality of the network. As the Professional Practice Networks grow, so will our society's body of knowledge and your success!

Rob Tilson, FASLA
Chair, Council of Professional Practice Networks

The Council of Professional Practice Networks is composed of the chairs of all of the Professional Practice Networks. The Council exists to coordinate communication among the chairs of the various networks and to advocate for advancement of the Professional Practice Networks program within ASLA.
