the U.S. Green Building Council Find out about trends in sustainable design and opportunities for landscape architects to become involved in the U.S. Green Building Council and its programs. Panelists will provide information on LEED, LEED certification, and LEED accreditation, emphasizing the role of landscape architects in LEED projects. Open Forum: Sustainable Site Evaluation: LEED and Beyond Panelists will present a draft outline of a system for evaluating site sustainability in the tradition of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program. Presently, LEED can only be applied to sites occupied by buildings, but landscape architects need sustainability tools for conservation areas, recreation areas, transportation corridors, and utility corridors.
