Professional Interest Group Meetings: ASLA’s seventeen Professional Interest Groups unite colleagues who share common practice emphases. Attend one or more of these discussion sessions to network, exchange ideas and information, and discover opportunities to advance your practice and your practice area. Groups may also use this time to discuss and structure projects for the upcoming year. You do not need to be a current member of the group to attend and contribute, and newcomers are welcome. The 20th Annual LAF Benefit Dinner: The Sunset Samba Friday, October 7 Ignite your senses at the Sunset Samba. ASLA Council of Fellows Business Meeting and Luncheon Join the Council of Fellows Chair, Robert Weygand, FASLA, in conducting the annual business of the Council and recapping the events of the past year. The luncheon also provides an opportunity to hear from ASLA President-Elect Dennis B. Carmichael, FASLA, and William T. Eubanks, ASLA Vice Presient of Membership. Riverwalk Revelry Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy food, drink, and dancing while you explore Riverwalk Park, a beautiful waterfront park in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Along these historic banks, Native Americans brought their ocean catches upriver to trade and early settlers brought their harvest for rail shipment north. This bustling area eventually served as the birthplace of Fort Lauderdale. Host Chapter Golf Tournament Heron Bay features a beautiful 18-hole, par-72 Canongate Golf Course with 7,200 yards from the championship tees. Carefully designed and crafted to blend perfectly with the community’s natural surroundings, the course features state-of-the-art Tif Sport Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens. Numerous golf holes have lake features. The third and thirteenth greens are both adjacent to Henry County’s 1,100-acre Cole Reservoir, providing golfers with spectacular views. Golfers will enjoy a four-person scramble format tournament with a shot-gun start at 8:30 am. A tournament representative will call registered players to arrange transportation logistics.
